“One of the dumbest thing’s I’ve ever read.”
So posted “hojoojoh” as a comment to one of the articles on this website.
I replied, “Hi hojoojoh – thanks for stopping by. I’m curious, why did you write the above?” No reply.
Not surprising. Often, such comments lack not only the style but also the substance and endurance to undergo a civil conversation.
“In a time of universal deceit – telling the truth is a revolutionary act.”
George Orwell
Truth isn’t a popularity contest but the proclamation of it is.
And proclaim it we must. Despite the censorship, despite the hostility, despite all the assertions which make the fashion of the time seem the truth for all time.
How?
Romans 12:2
Firstly, we need to start with ourselves. How can we proclaim the truth if we know not the truth? True introspection is always challenging so here’s the challenge: Check what influences you. Do you spend more time taking in values from the world than God?
This is confronting but it’s too important to ignore. Honestly answer yourself, “How much time do I spend talking and listening to God and His word versus how much time I spend absorbing the TV, movies, radio and internet?”
“He that walks with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.” Proverbs 13:20
Remember, the company you keep rubs off on you. So, make sure it’s God’s company that rubs off on your mind and not just the movies, TV, music, articles, opinion polls etc.
Where?
Where ever you are, that’s where you’ve been placed to shine. Don’t let the media’s parodies and caricatures be the only thing which people know of how life should be. In word and deed, shine the truth. And don’t believe the lie that you shouldn’t.
Please recognise that your circle of influence is bigger than you think. Discuss key issues with your politician, especially during election years. If they are to represent you, you need to represent your views to them. Call, email, ideally visit them. If you don’t, rest assured those who oppose you are. Don’t let them give the impression we all think like that.
Please also realise that your vote is a package deal. You cannot pick and chose which promises a political party implements once they are in power. An election presents you with a whole host of issues that the politicians will use to fight for your vote. Some will be more specific to you like your studies, job, past times but some will have greater effect in that it not only affects you but the whole of culture & generations to come – such issues need to take priority over any other promises they will make you – marriage is one of these. Please vote with this type of higher mindset.
Use social media, get involved in online polls as well as commenting after online articles/post on news sites. Again, if you don’t and all that is left is the opposite, then they win. More on this later.
Exercise Consumer stewardship. We live in a time where companies are being hijacked to be tools of propaganda, delving into issues that are outside of their core business. What is core to their business however is the the bottom line. Money doesn’t talk, it shouts. Vote with your dollars, shout with your spending.
Perspective
This is an image of men kissing farewell to their sweethearts prior to leaving for distant shores in World War 2. Many not to return. While some return damaged with their loved ones enduring this price for freedom.
Being in but not of this world, we should not be surprised if the world takes issue with us.
Jesus faced persecution, so will we. The servant is no greater than the master.
Acts 7:58
As such, previous generations faced persecution. They were hunted down and dragged out of their homes to be stoned. They were torn apart by animals and set alight for night parties.
Some now are being systemically hunted down to be violated, sold, beheaded or crucified.
John 15:18-20
Verbal and legal persecution for the sake of the Gospel, the treasures who are our children and for everyone whom Jesus died? We can do this. We must.
“What is to give light must endure burning.”
Viktor Frankl
“Stop regarding man in whose nostrils is breath, for of what account is he?”
Isaiah 2:22

Transending Trash Talk On Marriage - Part 1 - All Of Us
[…] Unlike other parts of the world, we in Australia haven’t suffered physical violence on par with what Sennacherib dished out. However, there has nonetheless been physical violence. The threats of which have forced supporters of natural marriage to meet in secret, to a commercial printer wanting to avoid any potential threats by refusing to print a book on the topic through to actual violence with the destruction of property. All that growing out from a bed of lies about sexual orientation and gender identity to produce a stifling atmosphere which oppresses free speech through legal threats, media censorship and the brainwashing of children without the adequate consent of their parents.
