See What They Attack

“In wartime, truth is so precious that she should always be attended by a bodyguard of lies”
Winston Churchill.

If you want to understand what threatens someone most, see what it is they attack. This may include oppressing it in a shroud of lies.

The Temple Mount

Being where the Temple once stood, the Temple Mount in Jerusalem is Judaism’s Holiest site.
It is also where the Al-Aqsa Mosque stands, the third holiest site in Islam. Originally built in 705 AD, it has been destroyed by earthquakes several times. The current structure was built in 1033 AD.

The Temple Mount came under Israeli control after the 1967 Six-Day War. Soon after, the Israeli government handed over control of it along with Al-Aqsa Mosque to the Islamic waqf trust.

Al-Aqsa’s Writings

This is what Al-Aqsa looks like (360 degree view here)….

alaqsa

…this is some of the stone which makes up the wall by its entrance….

alaqsaentrance

…but perhaps more provocative yet is the writing on it…

alaqsawriting

..it translates as follows…

Parts of the outer octagonal arcade:

  • “God, the eternally Besought of all! He begetteth not nor was begotten.”
  • “There is no god but God. He is One. Praise be to God, Who hath not taken unto Himself a son, and Who hath no partner in the Sovereignty..”
In the Qur’an, “People of the Book” are the faiths of Judaism, Sabians & Christians. Given their patriarchal culture, I note with interest that they refer to Jesus as “Son of Mary”. This seems like an unintended acknowledgement of His Deity.

Parts of the inner octagonal arcade:

  • “O People of the Book! Do not exaggerate in your religion nor utter aught concerning God save the truth. The Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, was only a Messenger of God..”
  • “So believe in God and His messengers, and say not ‘Three’ – Cease! (it is) better for you! – God is only One God. Far be it removed from His transcendent majesty that He should have a son.”
  • “Oh God, bless Your Messenger and Your servant Jesus son of Mary. Peace be on him the day he was born, and the day he dies, and the day he shall be raised alive!”
  • “It befitteth not (the Majesty of) God that He should take unto Himself a son.”

Coincidence?
