Sacrifice

Today marks the 70th Anniversary of D-Day.
On the 6th of June 1944, forces from the United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Australia, Free Belgium, Free Czechoslovakia, Free France, Free Greece, Free Netherlands, New Zealand, Free Norway and Free Poland participated in the largest seaborne invasion in history.

The start of the Allied invasion of German-occupied western Europe, D-Day contributed to the Allied victory in World War Two.

Much blood and treasure was lost that day with at least 12,000 Allied casualties. Their sacrifice helped secure our freedoms today.

Some in that generation answered the call. Some did not.
Ladies and Gentleman, here’s our challenge – what issues are we facing in our time that we should be answering the call for? What issues and values are we sacrificing at the altar of political correctness and personal comfort?

Each generation has its own challenges to face. May we be counted among those who answered.
