Freedom is not the right to do what you want but wanting to do what is right.
“In those days Israel had no king. Each man did what he considered to be right.”

Societies unravel when there is no common story, no agreement on what makes right. When the true vision of right is lost, so is true freedom.
It’s a vice, not a virtue when “everyone did what was right in their own eyes”.
“Then Jesus said to those Judeans who had believed Him, “If you continue to follow my teaching, you are really my disciples and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
