Screwtape: More Diabolical Directions

Published in 1942, The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis is a timeless classic. It writes of how to entrap and steer humans away from “The Enemy”  (God). Little has changed in that enterprise and that’s why it is timeless. It’s also timeless because of the way it delivers profound insights into our shared human condition in a very readable, witty way.

Inspired by it, some writers have adapted its style in taking up Screwtape’s pen to write of some specific issues of our day. In this case, the challenges facing mothers (apt given we have just celebrated Father’s Day). Sure, it’s all about making mothers miserable but there’s plenty in there to warn the rest of us of where we may fall.
