Indispensable

“The world was running before you started your job and it will keep running after you have stopped it.” I said to a high functioning perfectionist who was teetering on the edge of burn out.

“I know. I know. I’m dispensable.” She replied.

“Well your job is. And others can do it too. So in that sense, it is dispensable.” I replied. Then I shared with her what I believed to be a divinely inspired thought, a fresh message personally for her.
“However, you are indispensable to your family. Never forget that. You can come and go from your job, but you are irreplaceable to your family. I strongly urge you to remember that. This is about more than your job. Step back and see that it is also about your family.”

More importantly, we’re all in indispensable to God.
May we always remember that.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
John 3:16

“Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her,”
Epehsians 5:25

“Who can find a virtuous wife?
For her worth is far above rubies.
The heart of her husband safely trusts her;
So he will have no lack of gain.
She does him good and not evil
All the days of her life…
Her children rise up and call her blessed;
Her husband also, and he praises her:
“Many daughters have done well,
But you excel them all.””
Proverbs 31:10-12, 28-29

“A wise son makes a father glad,
But a foolish man despises his mother.”
Proverbs 15:20

“Children’s children are the crown of old men,
And the glory of children is their father.”
Proverbs 17:6
