Bee In Awe

Insects. Not a part of creation most enjoy. At least the majority of insects anyway. And no wonder since many are raised to hate them – flush Insey-Winsey spider out of a water spout anyone? This is in contrast to the memory verse about creation declaring God’s glory.

Some say that the Book of Nature is God’s Second or General Revelation. I’d say it is actually the first since it was there for Adam and Eve to see prior to the Bible coming along.

Some find it hard to appreciate the less aesthetically pleasing examples like spiders, flies and cockroaches. Sure, they aren’t pretty but they are important since they are required to handle the awful stuff like rotten flesh and faeces. Since God knows we wouldn’t want to (or for that matter, be able to), He made those to complete the circle of life (or recycling if you want to put it in a less poetic way).
And you can’t say He doesn’t do it with style. Just look at the grand engineering and aesthetics He puts into them (even if you have to see it at a microscopic level).bee2samdroegeusgs

Now, I wouldn’t say that kids need to love insects but at the very least they should respect them. As a part of creation, they are amazing after all. Take a look at these images and tell me God isn’t a perfectionist in everything He does.

If He did this with mere Bees and insects, marvel at what did He with you. Now consider what can He do through you. There’s a thought for 2015 and beyond.
