Go For It

helloAt 7 weeks old my son started saying “Hi” and at 8 weeks, “Hello”. As my wife puts it, we are “ridiculously proud parents”.

Here’s the thing. While it is amazing for an infant to say “Hello”, it isn’t that remarkable in the broader scheme of things. Yet as parents, when we see our children take their first steps in what may be mundane, in their context, we rightly recognise the extraordinariness of it. We celebrate the “Hello’s” and the clumsy coloured blobs on paper which are meant to represent mummy and daddy, or whatever else was taking their fancy at the time.

“For You formed my inward parts;
You covered me in my mother’s womb.
I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well.”
Psalm 139:13-14

Isn’t that exactly the case with our Heavenly Father?

Are there things you know or have sensed He would have you do? The things that you have been put down here for, the things which only you can do? Don’t be stopped at the limits of your abilities. You may not be at the standard of your favourite performer, authour or speaker or whatever else you care to compare to but if it pursues His will, exercise your freedom to try. And trying is at the start of greatness.

Go For It.
It’s what you’re down here for and He’s eagerly watching 🙂

“The graveyard is the richest place on earth, because it is here that you will find all the hopes and dreams that were never fulfilled, the books that were never written, the songs that were never sung, the inventions that were never shared, the cures that were never discovered, all because someone was too afraid to take that first step, keep with the problem, or determined to carry our their dream.”
